The Secret of Monkey Island, Melee Island Town, by The Winsome Parker Lewis.
My best friend in second grade introduced me to SMI back in 1992. I’ve held onto the game (and its sequels) since then, playing through every year or so for old time’s sake. ScummVM has been great for running the first three games on newer hardware including smartphones. Of course now there are special editions available natively on these systems, with better graphics and full voice acting. But I don’t think they’ll ever be quite the same as the original versions, for me.
[Josh says: I love the super clean pixel-graphics approach here, complete with 5-pt font.]

Here is my drawing from memory of Melee Island from The Secret of Monkey Island, one of my favorite games of all time. My brain did a pretty decent job marking out all the locations on this blue post-it (especially the elusive Sword Master’s spot!), but I got the shape of the island all messed up and totally misplaced Stan’s Used Ship Emporium (for shame). I remembered the island looking kind of like a pirate face (if you turn your head a little), so I drew the bay near the town with some kind-of sort-of profile features, but I was all wrong! The face is actually angled in the opposite direction. Pretty close, though. - Tiff Chow

I think I’ve got all the locations, but the paths between them are probably wrong. I couldn’t remember where the circus and forest were in relation to everything else.
I last played Monkey Island about six or seven years ago. I’ve probably completed it about five times over the years. I’ve bought the enhanced editions from Steam but haven’t had a chance to play through them yet. It’ll be interesting to see how many of the puzzles I can still remember and whether I need to use a guide.

I could probably map out this entire game from memory. You know, it I could draw.
[Josh says: do it! Drawing is overrated.]
