Super Mario 64, Whomp’s Fortress, by Sara.
I love this game and this site, so I thought I’d have a go at drawing Whomp’s Fortress. Needless to say it looks awful.
[Josh says: it gets the job done, that’s the important thing. Thanks for the submission!]
Super Mario Bros 3, world 1-3, by joseph.
I can probably map every single level out of the game, to bad I’m lazy XP
Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, by lunathewarrior.
I’d have liked to continue drawing past the bridge and done the whole world map, but I can’t remember enough of it to make a sketch! My six-year old self spent most of her time on Yoshi’s Island; I don’t even know if I ever actually beat the game. I think I’ll go find it now, and try again. (Also, Luigi’s flag is on the castle because whenever possible, I play as Luigi. He’s much cooler, in my mind.)
Super Mario Bros 3, level 1-2, by joseph.
This is the level with the infinite lives trick. I never noticed until now that there are no koopa troopas.
I could probably draw every level of SMB3 but thats to much XD
Super Mario Land, world 1-1, by nikoanesti.
The first level of the first video game I ever played, Super Mario Land. It’s practically imprinted in my mind now, over 20 years later (except for that first mushroom apparently, I checked and I put it one block too far). I wish Nintendo would remake Mario Land 1 and 2 together with updated graphics and music, just for fun. We Mario fans are suckers for that, we’ll buy it!

[Josh says: Super Mario Land was such an odd beast. The choice to significantly alter the look and feel of the core SMB franchise in their adaptation to the Gameboy’s lower-res screen was interesting, though as a pretty hardcore little Mario fanboy at the time it also struck me as aesthetically offensive — Mario didn’t LOOK right, Mario didn’t FEEL right, all the blocks in the world were too SMALL, etc. Still, I played the shit out of this game.]
Super Mario World, world map, by Q-BAWLZ.
Yay, Super Mario World. This is one of the first games I own ever and I’m surprised that I can still remember portions of the stage even though I never fully 100% completed it nor played it since middle school.
Chocolate Island is hard, I don’t remember any of the stages there. I also just remembered that there’s supposed to be a shiprwreck somewhere near Bowser’s Cave.
Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), world 1-1, by katiecrimespree.
This game was so strange and awesome and I’m so glad we got this in the 80’s instead of the Japanese Mario 2. I played the hell out of this but wasn’t very good, so I saw a lot of the first board, hence my pretty accurate map.
Paper Mario, level 1, by ledundead.
I could honestly map most of Paper Mario on the N64 from memory, if not all of it! I don’t think anyone would want to see that though, and unless I could organize it better than there’s no way.
[Josh says: I dunno, an epic Paper Mario map could be pretty neat!]
Mario 64, Bob-omb Battlefield, by Adam.
A Haiku:
Bob-omb Battlefield,
First level in Mario
Thank you Nintendo!

The level/map/board we all know and love. Game: Super Mario 64, of course.
Sincerely,
A Mario 64 fan and a child at heart
P.S.: Great site!
[Josh says: video game haiku seems like it could be it’s own whole deal. Or maybe some William Carlos Williams? I have eaten / the mushroom / that was in / the [?] block…]
Super Mario Bros 3, world map, by joseph.
I saw a map I did on the page and it encouraged me to challenge my self to the extreme and draw all the worlds from 1-9 from Super Mario Bros 3
Originally, it took me 3 years to complete; and now about 15 minutes :P
[Josh says: epic. Nicely done, sir.]
