Kid Icarus, Stage 1-1, by Kate Glasheen.

Hands down my favorite NES game.  I was like a savant with this, beating it back to back to back while my older brother and his friends couldn’t. Fortunately,  I sucked at every other game to make up for that.

I am really bad at Kid Icarus. I must have played level 1-1 hundreds of times from 1987 on, getting bitten by snakes and hit by floating grim reapers until Pit flailed helplessly and I got a useless password.

You’d think, then, that my memory map of it would be better.
