First memory, Super Mario Bros, by animamundianimationworkshop.

Myself as a young lad in the heart of midwestern America defeating Super Mario Bros Stage 1-1. Back when Saturday noons were free and the Big Gulps were free if you behaved.
In retrospect, I never did make it far past the first world of the original game back then. I usually just felt really accomplished just beating Bowser for the first time. Fast forward to now, and you haven’t really beaten a game until you’ve done a speed run with thousands of No-____s attached to it. Good times.

That is an awesome picture.  It could almost be me, except you’d have a hard time convincing me to take my eyes off the damn screen when I was playing, end-stage animation or no.
I still remember seeing 3-1 for the first time, huddled around a TV with some friends, and it’s that black sky, like you never thought there could be a black sky in this game, and just feeling like, man, this is it, this is what it’s all about, man…

Mapstalgia: video game maps drawn from memory.
Mapstalgia collects drawn, painted, sculpted, pixeled, et cetera'd maps of video game levels and worlds and scenes, recreated from memory, submitted by readers. We've all got this stuff taking up space in our heads, so why not put it on paper and share?
